group of studentsEach semester, you will complete two or three classes that fulfill general education requirements, while learning more about the topic. The general education classes typically include English composition and literature and other humanities and social science courses. These courses are scheduled at convenient days and times to give you a set of classes that is uncomplicated to attend as well as intellectually coherent. The rest of your schedule will be open for you to plan according to your other interests.

The Mason Topics Program allows you to be part of a community throughout your freshman year. Students have the opportunity to live on-campus in a special section of President's Park reserved exclusively for them. They enjoy talks, field trips, and study sessions that support the social and intellectual life of their linked community. Those Mason Topics students who live off-campus are invited to join the residential students for these special co-curricular activities.
