Richard Nanian

Term Assistant Professor

Richard Nanian received an M.A. in English with both Literature and Creative Writing (playwriting) concentrations from Salem State College, and a Ph.D. in English with a Literary Studies concentration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He teaches both literature and writing courses. His interests include poetics, the effects of language on cognition, English and American Romanticism, and drama. His most recent article—"Positive Ambiguity, or Why Keats’ 'Lamia' Did Not Become a Fragment"—was published in the 2008 issue of Prism(s): The Journal of the International Conference on Romanticism. He is also a contributor to the Routledge ABES Online Bibliography of Romanticism. A list of courses he is teaching in the current and upcoming semesters may be found on his web-site.
